FarmerNet (www.farmer.lk) is a mobile – online trading platform to support small farmers in rural Sri Lanka which is entirely usable by SMS.

Farmers and traders can upload their selling or buying information via mobile phone SMS and, working as a ‘spot trading platform’, FarmerNet automatically checks the matching parties (i.e. sellers and buyers) and informs both parties via SMS messages to their mobile phones.
