Producer’s Description
Fractures are common in the pediatric population. A large number of children visit the emergency department because of accidental injury. Trauma to the musculoskeletal system accounts for half of these visits. Unlike adults children usually sustain fractures in the upper limb. Of all the fractures in the upper limb the Supracondylar fracture of the Humerus (SHF) is most common injury and can result in serious complications if not treated appropriately. This project focusses on developing a complete software solution for analysis and diagnosis of Supracondylar fracture of the Humerus in children enabling early treatment planning by Image Processing. This PC-based software program is equipped with functions of automatically finding the SHFs. It has a user-friendly interface, with a manual mode and an automatic mode for estimating the fracture angle.
