Producer’s Description

Integrated Border Management System (IBMS) is a comprehensive, flexible, tested and proven border management system that caters to multiple ports of entry. It is a Total End-to-End Solution for Border Control from Arrival to Departure and/ or Transfer. It stores structured data for viewing, monitoring and security. The optimized search engines of the system enables retrieval of high quality, standardized and detailed records of each passenger in just seconds.
IBMS is constructed entirely on Modular Architecture allowing the systems to change in line with business needs, with minimal impact, and as often as needed. The system was initially deployed in client server architecture has now been upgraded to a web based system providing 24*7 services. The initial Service which was limited to the Katunayake Airport has now been extended to the Ratmalana Airport and 5 key seaports - Colombo, Galle, Trincomalee, Norochcholai and  Hambantota. Before the introduction of centralized web based system, the Department of Immigration and Emigration (DIE) Head Office at Colombo was the only place that could issue
passports. This caused considerable difficulties to those living outside Colombo. With the introduction of the Travel Document Module to the centralized web based system it is now possible to issue passports from branches located in Matara, Kandy, and Vauniya.
