With over Twenty Five years of far ranging experience in ICT Management, Planning, Systems Design, Development & Implementation, General management and Institutional Development, he has held many C level and Senior positions in ICT General Management, Project Management, Implementation and Maintenance of ICT systems in varying types of Computer networks using industry standard hardware and software platforms for many organization.

He has provided his expertise for technological transformation of many Clients/organizations in industry verticals such as Air transportation, Health, Finance, FMCG, Manufacturing etc. 

He has been actively involved in the ICT industry activities and has rendered services to the development of ICT through the professional organizations he is involved in.

Further he has contributed his expertise to the young ICT professionals as a visiting lecturer and research project supervisor with two of the local universities.

Ruwan Amarasekara has been a Chartered member of BCS and obtained his MBA from University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He has a Post graduate Diploma in Marketing and is an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), UK. He is a Member of Project Management Institute (PMI) and a CIMA Finalist. He represents Sri Lanka at the Executive Committee of Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA). He is the Immediate Past Chairman of BCS the Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka Section.


Fayaz Hudah


Former Programme Head of The Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka with nearly 20 years’ experience in technology industry.

Founder of ‘spiralation’, the 1st Technology Accelerator in Sri Lanka. Co-author of the National ICT Capacity Strategy (NICS) which later became government policy for IT & KPO development in Sri Lanka. Drafted bilateral trade in IT/ITES services under CEPA with India and Pakistan. Creator and facilitator of The Technology Entrepreneurship course for Open University Of Sri Lanka.





Judge of Kotiyak Vatina Adahasak the 1st startup reality TV show in Sri Lanka. Moderator, panelist 2016 & judge of the slingshot challenge 2017 at Disrupt Asia 1st startup Conference & Expo. Juror 2013-14, congress judge 2015-16 and moderator 2017 & 2018 e-Swabhimani, the Digital Social Impact Awards in Sri Lanka. Judge 2014-15 and keynote speaker 2013 at MIT GSL. Curator of Computer Society of Sri Lanka CIO Forum. Moderator of the National Broadband Forum 2017 & 2018. Founder and Investor of a number of technology startups related to transportation, tourism, health, analytics, retail, etc. A connector and mentor to startups and a consultant to government, INGO and private sector organizations in technology transformation, productization, innovation, go-to-market and operational strategy.


Waruna Sri Dhanapala

Mr. Waruna Sri Dhanapala is an officer of Sri Lanka Administrative Service since 2000 and currently serving as the Senior Assistant Secretary (ICT for Development) in the Ministry of Digital Infrastructure & Information Technology (since January 2016).

He has served in the Presidential Secretariat, Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in various capacities. He represented several national committees including the ICT Industry Skills Council, National Steering Committee on Implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), National Broadband Consultative Committee and the Steering Committee of the Knowledge Hub Initiative.



Mr. Dhanapala is one of Sri Lanka’s alternate representatives to the ICANN Government Advisory Committee (GAC). He is also in charge of the ICT commitments of Sri Lanka's National Action Plan of Open Government Partnership (OGP), matters related to cybersecurity and e-laws, e-commerce and digital transaction initiatives of the government. He is a speaker in several national, regional and global initiatives on ICT and digitalization, e-commerce and sustainable development. He also serves in the Committee on Information Technology of Sri Lanka Association for The Advancement of Science (SLAAS) since 2017.

As the Minister Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in New York (2012 – 2014), Mr. Dhanapala was unanimously elected by the UN General Assembly as Vice Chair of the Second Committee (Economic and Finance) for its 68th Session, representing the Asia Pacific Group. He was responsible for several key UN Resolutions, including ICT for Development, Science and Technology for Development, South-South Cooperation, Globalization and Interdependence. He represented Sri Lanka in the negotiations of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) and the UN Open Working Group on formulating Sustainable Development Goals (OWG-SDG).

He holds two postgraduate Degrees - Masters in International Development Studies, the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan and Masters in Public Administration, Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka - and Bachelor’s Degree in Geology and Computer Science, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.


Yasas Vishuddhi Abeywickrama  

Yasas Vishuddhi Abeywickrama is a well-known professional in the Sri Lankan tech space.

Yasas works for Facebook in Sri Lanka and is responsible for a wide range of Facebook programs in Sri Lanka such as Digital Safety, Economic Growth Initiatives, Countering Hate Speech, Crisis Respnse and Online Gender Issues. Yasas leads community engagement of Facebook in Sri Lanka.

He is a graduate of the University of Colombo with an honours degree in Computer Science (2004) and also holds a Masters from Swinburne University of Technology in Australia (2010).



 Yasas V Abeywickrama

Yasas started his career in 2003 at Virtusa as a Software Engineer and then became a Business Analyst. Later Yasas worked for Accenture in Melbourne. From 2010 to 2016, he was involved in the IT/BPO training space. He has also provided IT consultancy services to various clients.

He was a Director of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) (2009/10) and a member of the ACS Congress. Since 2015 to date, he has been an elected Member of the Board of IFIP – International Federation of Information Processing. Yasas is also a Past President of South East Asian Regional Computer Confederation (SEARCC). Since 2011, he has been an active member of Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), which is the apex body for IT professionals in Sri Lanka. He was the President of CSSL in 2017 and 2018.

Yasas is known for his broad and deep international exposure and relationships which includes working in as well as working with multiple countries across the world including Sri Lanka, Australia, USA, UK, India, Singapore, Austria, China, Japan and South Korea among others.

Yasas has published 3 books and hundreds of articles, touching on a wide range of issues such as tech, community, policy, society and business. He has appeared in media widely for his thought leadership.

As CSSL President, Yasas gave leadership to many historic milestones including organizing Sri Lanka's Biggest Ever International ICT Event around IFIP General Assembly that was held in Sri Lanka in 2017, launching of Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct for Sri Lankan IT professionals and induction of Sri Lanka into Seoul Accord by uplifting CSSL degree Accreditation processes to global standards. During his Presidency, CSSL recruited over 2000 IT students as student members, increased member engagement and the organisation became an active and vocal vibrant outfit. Strong international relationships and broad local relevance was the hallmark of his leadership for CSSL.

Dr. Madhu Fernando, PMP, is a renowned Project Management thought leader, Project Management trainer and a consultant. Indika De Zoysa

Indika De Zoysa is a seasoned, vibrant and result oriented professional with 26 years of rich experience covering solution innovation, development, integration and market development with prestigious organizations.

Currently Indika is the Senior Consultant at ICT Agency of Sri Lanka. In this role Indika is responsible for providing effective and inspiring leadership to an innovative and effective team of managers and staff to drive Digital Sri Lanka vison “Transforming Sri Lanka towards a Creative Knowledge- Based Society through digitally empowered citizens “.




Also Indika is currently serving as a board member of the ICT skills council of Sri Lanka. Indika has 15 years of working experience at Intel Corporation as the country Business Manager – Sri Lanka. During this period Indika was responsible for executing all Intel programs and drive sales of Intel products & ramping newer technologies. He also leveraged cross functional resources to build and drive visibility for the Intel brand in Sri Lanka in IT ecosystem. Apart from these core responsibilities Indika managed relationships with the Sri Lankan Government and relevant authorities.

Prior to Intel, Indika was working for Hemas Pharmaceuticals as a Product Manager.  Indika is a past student of Dharmaraja College Kandy and he was a sportsman during his school time. In school Indika has represented Rugby, Hockey, Cricket, athletics and Table Tennis. For Rugby and Hockey Indika has won college Colours. Indika was a college prefect and deputy house captain as well. Currently Indika is involved in many positions in sports administration in different levels.

Indika is qualified in Marketing from the Charted Institute of Marketing and MBA from SMC University - Switzerland. Currently Indika is reading for Doctor of Business Administration in University of Kelaniya.


Hasith Yaggahavita

As the CTO and a member of the board, Hasith leads the engineering division of 99X Technology, an award-winning software engineering company. With 15 years of experiences, Hasith has worked across multiple disciplines as a catalyst for change processes including Agile, UX, Lean Startup, Digital Marketing, Social Responsibility, etc. 


During the recent years, Hasith's interest grew around innovation and creativity. Driven by his passion to change the way we educate youth, Hasith co-founded IgniterSpace, Sri Lanka’s first Makerspace chain for young innovators. He is also a Co-Founder of Maturify, a startup that offers a Modern Learning Management SaaS solution.

He is a graduate from the CSE department of University of Moratuwa and holds a Masters degree from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK. Hasith was also the author of then popular open source early-stage HTML5 reference architecture BoilerplateJS ( Hasith is a Certified Scrum Master, Sun Certified Java Programmer and Microsoft Certified Application Developer too.

He is a founding member of StartupX Foundry (a startup incubator), Colombo Camps Community (a community that drives a dozen tech meetups and conferences in the IT industry). Hasith regularly appears as a speaker and a resource personnel in the industrial gatherings to share knowledge and works as an active member of several industrial and university committees. He has previously served ICTISC as a board member and currently serves as a member of the board at SLASSCOM.


Vishaka Nanayakkara

Ms. Vishaka Nanayakkara is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at University of Moratuwa. She is also the chairperson of the University’s centre for Open Distance Learning.

Her research interests are performance modelling and analysis, technology based teaching, learning, assessment in higher education, e-Governance and ICT for development and social cohesion.


 Vishaka Nanayakkara

In 2016 year she was awarded the “Female ICT leader of the Year” award by Computer Society of Sri Lanka. She was a member of the judging panel for ‘Kotiyak Vatina Adahask’ - Entrepreneurship based tech reality TV show.

Ms Nanayakkara is passionate about promoting entrepreneurship among young Sri Lankans. She is the staff advisor for University of Moratuwa’s Entrepreneurship Society and the chair for university’s centre for Gender Equity and Equality. She is a Board Member of LIRNEasia and Women’s Chamber for Digital Sri Lanka.


Sampath Jayasundara

Sampath is a visionary thought leader with a reputation for anticipating where the industry is headed, with strategies to grow regionally while transforming company operations and millennial cultures to deliver high level performance.

Sampath has possessed over 20 years of experience in the ICT industry, joined hSenid as Project Lead in the year of 2000 and gradually gained expertise to manage the entire operations of hSenid Business Solutions as Director/General Manager after holding key positions as, Manager Operations and General Manager Business Development etc.




Sampath is an experienced Strategist - a thought leader, a public speaker and an outcome-focused leader who exhibits a significantly impressive track record in market development, business transformation and market expansions in Sri Lanka, India, Africa and the Asia Pacific region.

He serves as a lecture panel member of the Institute of Personal Management (IPM) of Sri Lanka, lecturer for Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL), lecturer for Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura and an external lecturer at Finance and Management faculty, University of Colombo in both undergraduate and post graduate levels. He is a Co-founder/ Director of Pioneer Institute of Business and Technology (Pvt) Ltd which offers IT and Business degree programs in affiliation with University of Greenwich UK.

Furthermore, Sampath is a holder of Masters of Business Administration from PIM, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and has successfully completed Executive Education programs on Strategy Execution in India, whilst being a member of Project Management Institute in USA. 


Sunali Jayasuriya


Sunali is an Attorney-at-Law and LL.B graduate from University of Colombo. She has pursued her postgraduate studies at University of Colombo where she obtained a Master of Laws Degree in commercial law where she specialized in Information Technology Law. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Institute of Human Resource Advancement (IHRA) of University of Colombo. Currently she serves as the Legal Officer at ICT Agency of Sri Lanka.  


She is playing an important role as a member Data Protection Law Drafting Committee appointed by the Ministry of Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology in formulating the Legal framework for proposed Data Protection Bill of Sri Lanka.


Mahinda Kandapahala

Mahinda has obtained a B.Sc. in Information Technology degree specialized in Computer System & Networking from Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) and a M.Sc. in Information Technology in the same Institute. He is also a Member of the ISACA, EC Council and ANZQ. He certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CISCO CCNA), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) & Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE). 



Prior to joining Sri Lanka CERT, He worked at ICTA as a Senior Systems Engineer and he has an over 10 years’ experience in Computer systems, networking and IT security capacity. Currently he is an employed at Sri Lanka CERT|CC begin involved with information security assignments and national level information security assignments.


Ruvindi Ranaraja

First degree from University of Kelaniya in Bachelor of Arts with a first class honors and have Master in Business Administration from University of Colombo in International Business. Also Merit pass in Professional Qualification in Human Resource Management from Institute of Personnel Management.

06 Years working experience as a Project Management Officer and a Revenue operations at Virtusa Pvt Ltd. Currently working at Export Development Board, as Assistant Director handling and managing ICT/BPM sector.



As an enthusiastic team leader and passionate individual have conducted multiple sessions in IT Weeks and forums for the startups/innovators. Also actively involved in the implementation of the National Export Strategy for ICT/BPM sector with the government and private stakeholders. Have led two missions to Japan IT Week including startups have conducted country seminars for the Diaspora and Japanese investor community.

Heshan Karunaratne

Holds a BSc (IT) from the Faculty of Information from the University Moratuwa Sri Lanka and a MBA from Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayawardenapura.

Commenced career at hSenid Software International as a business analyst and over a period of 8 years became the head of two strategic business units.

Was the CEO of Observerjobs (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of ANCL for a period of over 1 Year.  



Currently is the General Manager of The Projects Corporation & a Senior Consultant of Ezy Corporation.

Serves as a Project Supervisor at the Faculty of Engineering of the Open University of Sri Lanka and was a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Applied Sciences of University of Sabaragamuwa.

Is a Council member of Computer Society of Sri Lanka and Board Director of the ICT Industry Skills Council and also the President of ReStartSL a society focused towards ReStarting Lives of fellow Sri Lankans who face with devastation.

He is passionate about helping the transformation of entities towards digitalization, e-Governance and ICT for development and also keen on inventions, history and supporting people who are less fortunate.  


Dr. Ajith Pasqual

Ajith Pasqual is a Senior Lecturer and former Head of Department of Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering, University of Moratuwa and also former Director/Center for Information Technology Services at the same university. He is the founder and CEO of the first Semiconductor Startup Company in Sri Lanka – Paraqum Technologies which develops products in two areas: a high-performance hardware decoder and encoder for the newest Video Compression Standard –High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC/H.265) and high-performance hardware accelerated Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) based network analyzers and traffic shapers.

He received his B.Sc. Engineering degree with First Class Honours from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering in 1993, M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Tokyo in Computer Vision in 1998 and 2001 respectively.


Dr Pandula Siribaddana

Dr Pandula Siribaddana is a Senior Lecturer in Medical Informatics/medical education at the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM), University of Colombo with research interests in health information systems, education technologies and wearable health technologies. He is a medical doctor by profession and obtained his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. Following joining the PGIM in 2008, Dr Siribaddana obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Oslo, Norway in Health Information Systems and education technologies.

Dr Siribaddana has been part of the Specialty Board in Biomedical Informatics at the PGIM since its inception and has contributed towards establishing Biomedical Informatics as a specialty in medicine in Sri Lanka. He has also contributed to many health information system developments and implementations in the country working in collaboration with organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Vital Strategies and the Centre for Disease Control (CDC). At present, Dr Siribaddana is the Hon. Treasurer of the Health Informatics Society of Sri Lanka (HISSL) and is also a Fellow of the Commonwealth Centre for Digital Health. Dr Siribaddana is also the coordinator and the lead in the Commonwealth Digital Health Awards, which commenced in 2016 in Colombo and would be moving to Geneva, Switzerland for its fourth edition in 2020. 


Udana Wickremasinghe

Udana is a seasoned business cum digital executive who has provided effective stewardship for local and global organizations. He started his career in banking and moved into IT which helped him to gain significant experience in both digital and business arenas. He has over 24 years of experience, with 12+ at the C-level, in Sri Lanka, the UK and Australia. 

Currently he serves as a Director at Sri Lanka Tourism.Udana has picked up the CIO of the Year 2017 award from the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL).

Ahamed Nishadh

Ahamed is the Tech for Development Lead at Citra Social Innovation Lab which is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research and the United Nations Development Program in Sri Lanka.

He also has experience of more than 5 years working in the startup ecosystem with entrepreneurs, startups and other stakeholders, and has worked extensively with young people around the country and has been involved in conducting training programs for aspiring and early stage entrepreneurs.




With vast experience in the Tech industry within multiple roles and organizations, Ahamed brings in expertise of a crucial part of Citra's innovation work: technology. He works closely in implementing the HackaDev National Youth Social Innovation Challenge encouraging social innovation and entrepreneurship among young people, while also supporting the broader team with any technological aspects of solutions developed.
